A few years ago I paid for a “lifetime deal” on an AI writing tool because three different blog posts called it the best on the market. • What breaks, what’s clunky, and what does support actually do when something goes wrong?

None of that is glamorous. It’s mostly just logging in, clicking around, breaking things on purpose to see what happens, and writing down what I actually find instead of what a press kit says I should find. But it’s the difference between a review you can trust and one that’s just well-optimized marketing wearing a review’s clothing.
