If you’re running Stirling PDF via Docker, the OCR feature requires the Tesseract language pack for your language to be included in the container configuration. If you process PDFs in languages other than English and OCR results look wrong, check your LANGS environment variable in docker-compose.yml. It’s a common gotcha that catches people off guard.

The compression tool uses Ghostscript under the hood. Very high compression on complex PDFs can occasionally distort images. If file size is critical and image fidelity matters, test a few samples before running it on important documents.

Adobe Acrobat: Known Limitations

The AI Assistant works on document context windows. Very long PDFs (200+ pages) may return summaries that only cover portions of the document rather than the whole thing.
