YouScan Review 2026: Pricing, Visual Listening, Insights Copilot and My Verdict
Quick Answer

Request a YouScan demoWhat YouScan Actually Does
I’ll start with a plain description. YouScan is a social listening tool. It watches public social networks, forums, blogs, reviews and news sites for the words you track, then helps you work out what those mentions mean.
There are two ways to find conversations. Text queries catch brand names, product names, hashtags and keywords. Visual Insights looks inside pictures for logos, objects, scenes and activities, so you can find a brand that appears in a photo with no caption.
Everything sits on top of a sentiment and audience layer. You can see whether people are praising or complaining, which aspects of a product they mention, and who the audience is in terms of demographics and interests.
How I Reviewed YouScan
This review rests on hands-on use of the platform. I worked through topics, filters, sentiment views, dashboards and reports, focusing on the parts a brand or agency uses every week.
I did not run an independent accuracy benchmark. The “95% text and image analysis accuracy” figure on the homepage is the vendor’s own claim, and I treat it as directional until someone checks it against a labelled sample of posts.
To check the vendor, I compared its pricing and product pages with public listings on Capterra and Gartner Peer Insights, and I read both the praise and the complaints there. Where the vendor’s own pages disagree with each other, I say so below.
Hands-On Experience: My Dashboards and Daily Use
My experience with YouScan has been quite positive, especially when it comes to understanding what people say about a brand. It turns a flood of social conversation into something I can actually read and act on.
The feature I use most is filtering. Raw volume is enormous, so the real value is narrowing the stream to the conversations that matter. I can filter mentions, check sentiment, see which aspects people discuss, and find the sources and influencers behind a spike.
Custom dashboards are where the work becomes something you can show other people. Managers and clients rarely want to click through a platform. They want one page with the answer on it.
The audience analysis gave me the most depth. A rise in mentions tells you very little on its own. What helped more was seeing what the audience cares about, which problems they describe, and what they expect from the brand. That is material you can take into a messaging or product meeting.
If you’re building audience profiles from that kind of data, my walkthrough on using AI for empathy maps shows one way to turn raw audience themes into a usable customer picture.
I also used it for competitor work. I could follow rival brands, compare how each one is discussed, and spot strengths and weak points in the same view. For a team managing several brands, this is where YouScan pulls clearly ahead of a simple mention tracker.
Earlier concerns about how quickly mentions were collected seem to have been addressed. The speed no longer felt like a problem in my use, though I have not run a timed before-and-after test to measure the change.
How YouScan Collects Data
Coverage is the first question most buyers ask, and it is where the vendor’s numbers get messy. The product page says you can collect mentions from thousands of media sources in real time and access more than 500 billion historical conversations.
The homepage, however, quotes 2,000 billion social media posts and 1,000K media sources. Those figures do not match. Ask for the current coverage list during your demo rather than trusting either headline number.
Platform breadth matters more than the headline total. Reviewers on Gartner Peer Insights praise how far the tool reaches across networks and languages. One reviewer said it lets them track their brand and the wider market in the same place, which is a fair summary of what the tool is for.
Audio monitoring is a newer piece. YouScan says its AI listens to and summarises spoken mentions in YouTube videos, so you can catch a creator talking about your product even when the caption says nothing. I have not stress-tested that feature on a large sample, so treat it as a useful extra rather than a guaranteed catch.
Text and Visual Listening
Visual listening is the feature that stood out most to me, and it is also the one people oversell. Traditional social listening misses a conversation when someone posts your product in a photo and never types the brand name. YouScan can search for the logo itself and read text that appears inside an image.
I would not call it magic. Detection works well when a logo is clear and recognisable. It gets less reliable when a logo is very small, distorted, partly hidden or altered by the user.
Be careful with the vendor’s claim that logo recognition gets “80% more brand mentions.” It is their figure, and the size of the gain depends on how many of your mentions show up as images in the first place. Test it on your own brand before you put it in a business case.
The real value is in what text search misses. Examples include untagged influencer posts, recurring ways customers use a product, and visual patterns that show up around complaints. A marketing team could find high-value user-generated content and reach out to those creators. Another team could study how competitors’ products are presented in the market.
So my advice is simple. Don’t buy visual listening because the technology looks impressive. Buy it when you already know which decision the image data will change.
Insights Copilot: YouScan’s AI Agent
Insights Copilot is YouScan’s conversational agent. You ask a question in plain language, it runs the analysis, and it returns a structured answer. YouScan describes the 2026 release as the fourth major version since the agent launched in 2023.
The 2026 changes are mostly about scope. The four that matter most are:
- One question can cover your whole competitive set, instead of running the same query for each brand.
- Multi-step analysis, where the agent builds its own plan for a complex question and works through it.
- Filter setting from a sentence, such as “negative posts only, TikTok only, US only, last 30 days.”
- Shareable reports with charts, findings and the posts underneath them.
What I value most is that answers link back to the posts behind them. If an agent tells me complaints rose, I want to open the posts myself before I put that claim in front of a client. Every answer tied to real mentions is the right design for this kind of tool.
The catch is the plan limit. Starter includes 10 Copilot questions a month. If your team asks five quick questions a day, you will use up that allowance in about two days. Unlimited plans include unlimited questions.
Dashboards, Reports and Integrations
Dashboards are where most of my praise goes. Custom dashboards let you organise results by team or stakeholder, so the marketing lead, the PR manager and the CEO each see a different page of the same data.
Integrations are broad. The product page lists more than 350, including Slack, Zendesk, Freshdesk, HubSpot and webhooks. Automation rules can tag mentions, assign sentiment and send notifications.
One Gartner Peer Insights reviewer connected the tool to Slack so important mentions arrive without opening the platform. That is the workflow I would aim for, and it is where the value of a listening tool shows up for busy teams.
Plan limits matter here. Starter includes one integration per account, which you choose from Slack, Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp. Full API access and unlimited custom dashboards with data export are listed under Unlimited.
YouScan Pricing Explained (2026)
YouScan lists two paths on its pricing page. Starter has a fixed price, and Unlimited is configured to your requirements. I read the page on 6 October 2026, so check it again before you budget.
| Feature | Starter | Unlimited |
|---|---|---|
| Price | US$499 per month, billed annually | Custom quote |
| Tracked topics | 3 text-based topics | As many as you need |
| Monthly mentions | Up to 15,000 | Unlimited sampled mentions |
| Insights Copilot questions | 10 per month | Unlimited |
| Custom dashboards | 1 | Unlimited, with data export |
| Integrations | 1 (Slack, Teams or WhatsApp) | API access and integrations |
| Visual Insights (image analysis) | Not listed on Starter | Included |
| Audience Insights | Not listed on Starter | Included |
| Users, rules and alerts | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Those per-unit numbers are the useful part. At the cap, Starter works out to about US$33 for every 1,000 monthly mentions. Whether that is good value depends on whether you actually use the 15,000 mentions and the 10 AI questions.
Two details to plan for. The pricing page shows the same figure in dollars, euros and pounds (€499 and £499), so confirm which currency you will be billed in. It also lists card payments through Stripe and bank wire transfers, and Starter appears only as an annual plan.
Capterra reviewers make a similar point. Some would like features bundled more generously, and some want plans that flex on mention volume. One described the per-feature model as harder to budget for.

If you are going to test YouScan, this is the workflow I would follow. I am describing the order of work rather than every menu label, and interface wording can change, so use the help centre at help.youscan.io when you need exact names.
- Get access. Start the free trial, which the product page says needs no credit card. Or request a demo, where YouScan asks about your goals and sets up a trial account for you.
- List every name people use. Write down your brand, product names, common misspellings, abbreviations and hashtags. A missing spelling is the most common reason a topic looks thinner than it really is.
- Create the text topic. Add your keywords as text queries. Keep the first version narrow, check the results, and widen it only after you have seen what is getting in.
- Add visual listening if you need it. Attach your logos to the image side of the topic. Test with a few posts you already know contain the logo before you trust the results.
- Filter by what matters. Set platform, language, country and date range, and let spam filtering and duplicate merging clean the stream. Insights Copilot can also set these filters from a sentence.
- Tag and automate. Sort mentions into categories such as complaints, praise, comparisons and questions. Rules can tag mentions and send notifications on their own.
- Build one dashboard and share it. Keep the first dashboard to the three or four numbers your stakeholders care about, then add more when they ask.
Who YouScan Fits, and Who Should Skip It
Most of my recommendation depends on how many brands you watch. Small teams often start with general AI tools, and my guide to using ChatGPT for small business marketing covers that route. YouScan makes sense once you need real volume and competitor depth.
| Use case | Fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Agencies managing several client brands | Strong | Unlimited topics, users and dashboards on Unlimited |
| Brand and PR reputation monitoring | Strong | Sentiment, alerts and chat integrations |
| Competitor and market research | Strong | Competitive-set questions in one Copilot request |
| Logo and product photo monitoring | Strong, if on Unlimited | Visual Insights is listed on the Unlimited plan |
| Solo founder watching one brand | Weak on Starter | 10 AI questions and one integration can feel tight |
| Buyers who want a published price list | Weak | Unlimited is quoted, not published |
Where YouScan Frustrates People
Criticism is part of a useful review, so here it is. I have not logged a bug in my own use that I can reproduce well enough to document, so I will not invent one. The friction points below come from reviewers and from the plan structure.
Pricing structure is the most common complaint. Capterra reviewers say the per-feature charges are awkward and that plans could flex more on mentions and topics.
The interface gets mixed reviews. One Capterra reviewer found the UX less polished and a little clunky compared with other listening tools, while others praise how modern and easy to set up it feels. Judge it in your own trial rather than on my word or theirs.
Insights Copilot output still needs work in places. One reviewer asked for better examples, fewer duplicates, and examples drawn from a wider range of sources. Another wished for an engagement filter to prioritise high-impact posts. A third reported trouble with the tool not recalling specific data, so test that during your trial.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is YouScan free?
There is a free trial, and the product page says no credit card is required. Paid use starts at US$499 per month on Starter when billed annually.
How much does YouScan cost in 2026?
Starter costs US$499 per month billed annually and includes 3 topics, up to 15,000 monthly mentions and 10 Insights Copilot questions. Unlimited plans are quoted after a conversation with sales.
Does YouScan analyse images?
Yes. Visual Insights detects logos, objects, scenes and activities in images. The pricing page lists it under Unlimited rather than Starter, so confirm it during your trial if you are on a smaller plan.
What is Insights Copilot?
Insights Copilot is YouScan’s AI agent for social listening. You ask questions in plain language and get an answer tied to the posts behind it. The 2026 release adds competitive-set questions, multi-step analysis, automatic filters and shareable reports.
Is YouScan good for small businesses?
It depends on how many topics you need. Starter suits one or two brands at modest volume. A small business with one brand and light needs may find the single integration and 10 AI questions limiting.
How does YouScan compare with Brandwatch or Talkwalker?
I did not run a side-by-side price or feature test for this review, so I will not rank them. YouScan publishes its own comparison pages, which are written by the vendor. Read them with that in mind and check current pricing on each vendor’s site.
Conclusion
YouScan is a serious social listening platform. Its strengths are visual listening, Insights Copilot answers that link back to real posts, and dashboards that teams can actually use.
Starter is reasonable for what it covers, but it is tight on topics and AI questions. Agencies and brands with several topics should book a demo and push on the Unlimited quote. Solo users and small teams should test the Starter limits before they pay.
Before you commit, do three things. Run your real brand and product names through the trial. Check coverage for the platforms your audience uses. Ask in writing whether visual listening and Insights Copilot limits are part of the plan you are quoted.
